How to make your Android smartwatch's battery last longer

make your Android smartwatch's battery last longer

If you are part of the group of people who own an Android Wear watch, you should already know that the autonomy of these smartwatches does not last a day, especially if you use it constantly. To appease this problem, we propose some tricks to make the battery of your favorite accessory last longer.

1. Block/manage app notifications

The notifications cause the smartwatch's battery to be reduced, although it is true that some are essential to improve the experience of staying connected to your watch, others can riddle you with notifications to the point of becoming intrusive. Fortunately, Android Wear allows you to manage notifications by "blocking applications," an administrator that will allow you to download or delete applications, as well as enable or disable your notifications.

To manage the applications allowed or not, you have to:
  • Open the "Android Wear" application from the smartphone
  • Click on the circular icon of the parameters at the top right, next to the three points
  • Open the "block app notifications" option

2. Disable automatic screen brightness management

As with other mobile operating systems, there is an option capable of automatically managing the screen brightness according to the conditions in which you are. Far from being useful, this option consumes a lot of energy because it is always trying to process the exterior light to adjust the brightness of the screen.

To disable automatic brightness management, you have to:
  • Go to the applications menu
  • Open the clock parameters
  • Then go to Adjust brightness
From there you can choose the degree of brightness of the screen (between several levels from 1 to 5), but we advise you - if this does not suit you - that you deactivate the "Auto" option, since if you find yourself in an environment with less light, there is an option in the notification bar that allows you to quickly lower the intensity of the screen brightness, which you can access by deploying the top panel and sliding the screen twice to the right. In addition, you can also do this using the Wear Mini Launcher application, which is available for free on Google Play.

3. Activate Cinema mode

As the name implies, Cinema mode allows you not to worry about the watch, since the smartwatch goes to a semi-hybrid mode that turns off the screen and only resumes with the power button. Once activated, the option is deactivated as if by magic.

To activate it, you have to:
  • Expand the top panel
  • Click on the clock icon
Starting from the fact that the clock remains off during this time of hibernation, its battery will be improved, in addition to being useful when you go to the cinema, as the name implies, or even in a meeting, or if you simply do not want it bothered every half minute. Try it and tell us.

4. Restrict connectivity

Limiting the Wi-Fi connection, NFC, or even the location also helps to save battery, so that the watch is not constantly looking for a connection for each of them.

To disable this option, you have to:
  • Go to the applications menu
  • Open the clock parameters
  • Click on the connectivity menu

5. Disable wrist movements

Turning off wrist movements also helps make your smartwatch's battery last longer. The "Wrist movements" option allows you to slide the Google Now notes. This particular function is pending movements, so it requires the use of resources and battery.
  • Display the right panel of the clock
  • Open the clock parameters
  • Then, go down to the "Wrist movements" option and deactivate it
  • Observe the effects
For those who want to know and compare what each option consumes, you can also go to the detailed energy consumption controls in the Android Wear application on the mobile.

To do this, you have to:
  • Open the "Android Wear" application on your smartphone
  • Click on the parameters at the top right, next to the three points
  • Open the menu with the name clock
  • Navigate to the "Clock battery" option
After it has been charged, it will show you in detail the power consumption of the watch, as well as you can check the storage space available on it. You will also find it useful if you like to store the music in the latter or various compatible / system contents.

Can you think of any other trick?

How to choose the default user account to log in to Windows 10

The Microsoft operating system allows you to create a user account so that each person using the same computer has their own account. These accounts can be of different types depending on the permissions that we want them to have, being able to be an administrator account or a standard account. Anyway, when starting the computer, we will see that by default one of the accounts selected to log in to the system appears, although from the Windows 10 login screen it is possible to choose, manually, the account with the one we want to log in to the system.
